Worrdle / Project note

A focused study in feedback

Worrdle is a SwiftUI interface experiment for expressing word guesses and letter feedback through native views. The prototype focuses on the relationship between the board, keyboard, and visible state.

Source-structure illustration

Three parts of the interface

This editorial illustration maps the prototype's state, board, and keyboard structure.

  • Guess and letter state

Stores guesses, correct positions, correct letters, and current input.

  • Board rendering

Maps guesses into views and pads the board.

  • Keyboard input surface

Provides letter keys, input binding, and controls.

This diagram shows the prototype's state, board, and keyboard structure.

Separating state from surfaces

The prototype separates guess and letter state from the board and keyboard surfaces. GameBoardView renders guesses through GuessView, while KeyboardView exposes letter input and controls.

Interface and model exploration

Our contribution was interface and model exploration in SwiftUI, including the board, keyboard, and state structure.

Clarity through explicit feedback

A small set of explicit states can make a familiar interaction easy to read. Here, the value is in the focused study of feedback surfaces and native view composition.
